Oracle Veil works without accounts, payments, advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or behavioral tracking.

Your privacy choice

On your first visit, Oracle Veil asks whether this device may remember your language and sound settings and keep public application files for offline use. Choosing “essential only” keeps preferences in memory for the current visit, does not enable the service worker, and removes older Oracle Veil caches where the browser permits it. Choosing “remember my settings” stores only normalized preferences and enables the offline application cache. Your choice itself is stored so the site can respect it. You can reopen the choice from Settings or clear this site’s browser data.

Cookies and similar technology

Oracle Veil does not set first-party advertising or analytics cookies. The hosting and security provider may set strictly necessary cookies to deliver the site, balance traffic, prevent abuse, or remember that a security challenge was completed. Those cookies are not controlled by the site’s optional-settings choice and are not used by Oracle Veil for advertising. See Cloudflare’s cookie information.

If you choose “remember my settings,” the installable web app uses the browser Cache API to keep public application files, card images, and sound effects available and to support offline use. It never caches the personal-interpretation API, questions, selected cards, or generated text.

Questions and readings on your device

Your question, chosen cards, ritual progress, and generated interpretation remain in memory for the current page session. Oracle Veil does not intentionally write them to cookies or persistent browser storage. Closing or reloading the page starts a fresh reading. Previously stored prototype reading data is removed when the updated site loads.

AI-generated interpretations

The built-in card meanings work entirely in your browser. Oracle Veil contacts Google Gemini only after you select “Generate my personal interpretation.” The server sends your topic, question, card names, positions, and upright or reversed orientations. Do not enter names or sensitive, confidential, medical, legal, financial, authentication, or payment information.

Oracle Veil does not intentionally save the prompt or response in an application database. Google and the hosting provider may process technical logs and API content under their own terms, retention rules, and regional arrangements. Review the Gemini API terms. The generated text may be inaccurate and is offered only for reflection and entertainment.

Optional external services

Background music is requested from Wikimedia only after you enable it. Wikimedia then receives an ordinary network request, including your IP address and browser information, under the Wikimedia privacy policy. Sharing controls send an image and caption only when you choose a destination; the selected platform then applies its own privacy terms. Oracle Veil does not receive your social-media credentials.

Security logs and retention

The hosting provider may process IP addresses, request times, user-agent information, security signals, and error details to deliver and protect the service. Oracle Veil does not use those logs for advertising or profiling. Provider retention and international processing are governed by the provider’s policies.

Your rights and contact

You can use the site without remembered settings, clear local data in your browser, decline AI generation, and avoid optional external music or sharing. For a private privacy or security request, contact the operator through GitHub Security Advisories. Do not include passwords, API keys, payment data, or another person’s information.
